Greetings, freedom-loving homeschool families!
I hope this newsletter finds you thriving in your educational adventures as you’re navigating the wild and wonderful world of homeschooling! I know many of you are embracing summer break. As for my family, we are enjoying the summer season to its fullest while continuing to homeschool year-round.
First things first— I've got some exciting news to share. Drumroll, please... 🥁
I’m pregnant!
Yeppers… We are so thrilled and grateful about our growing family. I’m sure our newest addition will fit right in with our bustling homeschool life!
Now, onto a bit of an announcement regarding our homeschool journey. Over the past year, we have eagerly welcomed the freeing and flexible world of unschooling, and it has been a joy watching my children explore and learn at their own pace. But, like any great adventure, sometimes you need to try a new route.
Switching Gears: Exploring New Homeschooling Styles
I’m a huge advocate of unschooling, especially for new homeschoolers as it allows families to get a feel for their children’s learning styles, interests, and personal preferences. However, after lots of research, prayer, and heart-to-heart chats with fellow homeschool parents, I’ve decided to shake things up a bit. Our new approach will be a delightful mix of eclectic methods, including classical homeschooling, literature-based learning, unit studies, and the ever-inspiring Charlotte Mason approach. Yes, it’s a mouthful, but I believe combining these homeschooling styles will create the most dynamic and engaging learning experiences for my 2 kids (soon to be 3)!
On the Horizon: Growing The Blog
With all these changes in circulation, I’ll be shifting my focus to what has been on my heart lately— expanding our homeschool blog. Homeschool Fox is a place we have been sharing our homeschooling journey from the start, as well as helpful resources, tips, and encouragement for other homeschool families.
My mission remains steadfast: to explore lively learning experiences with my children while creating deep connections with other homeschooling families. Moving forward, you can expect the blog to be a vibrant, sassy, and faith-filled space where we can all connect and learn from each other.
I am scheduling interviews with homeschool educators to share a diverse range of perspectives and experiences. If you are interested in contributing, please reach out and let me know. I would love to hear from you!
